LG Optimus G

A new member came to the LG Optimus Family- ’LG Optimus G E973’, after the Optimus Vu. It comes with 4G to compete with Samsung Galaxy S III and Apple Iphone 5. Its dimension is 131.9x68.9x8.5 mm which means it is a slim phone. Its weight is 145g.


Like most of the smartphones, it is also a touchscreen phone. It has True HD touchscreen + LCD, which improves the quality of the screen of Optimus G. LG uses the Optimus v3.0 technology in multitouch to improve the users experience.

Like other smartphones in its range, it has a microSD support of 32GB. It has Quad-Core 1.5 GHz which will provide a good speed.

It has 2G internet connectivity like GPRS and EDGE, 3G internet connectivity features like HSDPA and HSUPA and the high speed 4G LTE. It is also provided with Wi-Fi 802.11 and Wi-Fi hotspot. Its built in browser supports HTML5 and Adobe Flash will provide users a good experience to browse the web. It is assured that users will be satisfied with the connectivity of the phone.

Operating System:
The LG Optimus G has Google’s Android v4.04, that is Android Ice Cream Sandwich. LG is planning to upgrade the OS to Android 4.1.1 (jelly bean). So users don’t want to worry about the overall performance of the phone as the OS is provided by Google.

Optimus G has a 13 megapixel primary camera and a 1.3 megapixel secondary camera. This will provide good quality images for users. Apart from the 13 megapixel camera it has a LED flashlight and autofocus which enables us to take images even at small amount of light. Its video quality is also incredible. Its video camera also has LED video light. The features of the camera includes geo tagging, face detection and image stabilization.

Battery Backup:
LG Optimus G has a good battery backup. Optimus G enables you to talk for 15 hours and has a standby up to 335 hours. It is far better than Iphone 5.

Optimus G is now available in black colour. If the phone become popular we can expect that LG will release different shades of this phone.

In The Box:
In the box LG provides charger, micro USB cable, sim ejector tool and headphone. The headphone supports dolby mobile sound.

LG Optimus G has Q Slide feature. This feature enables us to use two apps at same time.Suppose you are watching a movie and you get a text message. You can read the message while watching the movie. The message will be displayed transparent and you can read the message and watch the movie at same time.
Another feature is about the TV output. LG Optimus G can output one app on TV while you can use another app on phone. You can show a video to your family on TV and on the same time you can check your mail or chat or do something else.

Advantage Over LG Optimus Vu:
If we talk about the advantages of LG Optimus G over LG Optimus Vu we can say the main feature as 4G. Another improvement is made over the CPU. Optimus Vu use 1.3Ghz CPU while Optimus G use 1.5Ghz CPU. Its camera has also improved. In the previous version they use 8 megapixel camera. Now they use 13 megapixel camera in Optimus G. Optimus Vu was using Stereo FM Radio with RDS and it is replaced by TBD radio. Optimus Vu doesn't has an external memory support. But Optimus G has external memory support up to 32GB.
